In 2018, Alex Canut and David Sierra, two 4rt grade university students at Barcelona, were approached by their 2nd grade teacher and industry veteran Enrique Sainz. Enrique had been working through the summer in a new technology: SphereWorld, which would allow to create tiny planets in a Mario Galaxy style. Alex and David agreed to jump on the project, and started working in the tools necessary to make SphereWorld an applicable working technology. Team Garden was born.
It became quite apparent that just creating a technology wasn't enough of a challenge, so they started working in GardenWorld, a game based on many, many, many ideas from a plethora of beloved games: Mario Galaxy, Metroid, Okami, and even Grand Theft Auto went into the blender, and started shaping an impossible dream, a game so big a team of three could never embrace.
But Team Garden didn't know that. With the help of many friends and collaborators, GardenWorld is nowadays becoming a reality, with the first of four episodes of the game planned to be released in early access on March the 19th of 2022.
David, Alex and Enrique are currently struggling to find proper funding to keep on with the work, but... who isn't? Team Garden is commited to bring you a fresh, unique experience, for all of you, players and indie lovers, out there. Here we go!
